Glass cutting

Cutting is a crucial stage of production that determines the final appearance, optical properties and function of the glass product.

Precision glass processing – from machine precision to hand craftsmanship

At Bomma Glassworks, we have our own CNC robotic cutting technology that we design and manufacture ourselves. These machines enable precise surface and spatial machining of decorative, optical and technical glass – always fully customised to the client’s requirements.

Sesterská sklárna Rückl, tradiční sklárna s talentovanými řemeslníky, nabízí tradiční ruční broušení dekorativního a uměleckého skla. Mistrovství v ručním broušení se dědí z generace na generaci, a tak sklárna Rückl nabízí jeden z nejkvalitnějších ručně broušených křišťálů na světě.

robotic glass cutting

Robotic glass cutting is provided by our CNC technology, which has been completely developed in-house and enables fully customised shape processing of decorative and technical glass. The technology is suitable for optical components, design products and repetitive series production with maximum precision.

Typical applications: Lighting components, Optical elements and lenses, Decorative glass with engraved structure

Technical limits: Max. diameter of flat shape: 800 mm, Max. length of flat shape: 800 mm, Max. diameter of space shape: 600 mm, Max. length of space shape: 600 mm

hand glass cutting

We use hand glass cutting for specific projects with an emphasis on fine detail and individual approach. This method is suitable where there is a need to combine a craftsman’s flair with a shape that cannot be easily replicated by machine – or as a complement to the CNC process.

Suitable for: Prototypes and piece production, Specific design details, Combination with other refining techniques
